The Perfect DIY Lash Application: A Step-by-Step Tutorial

Are you ready to elevate your makeup game with stunning DIY lashes? Applying false DIY LASHES can seem daunting, but with the right techniques, you can achieve a flawless look at home!

In this tutorial, we'll cover everything you need to know about DIY lash application, from choosing the right lashes to the final touches. Plus, we've included instructional pictures to guide you through the process!

What You'll Need:

Tools and Products:

DIY Lashes: Choose your desired look (natural, dramatic, etc.) and create a lash map. A lash map simply means choosing your desired lengths and laying them out-together, mixing lengths to create the look you’d like to achieve prior to application.

Lash Bond: Opt for a strong, waterproof formula for longevity. We have several, and most of kits come with the Bond and Seal.

Tweezers: For precise placement.

Clampers: To fuse the DIY lashes to your natural lash.

Eyelash Curler: To place your natural lashes in the upright position. This helps with placement of your DIY lashes.

Mascara: Optional. Some people like to apply a thin coat of mascara after application for a more seamless look. This is optional because with DIY lashes you don’t have to do this step. Please keep in mind, any makeup products that you add to your eyes while using any lashes will require daily cleansing maintenance to avoid dirt and bacteria buildup.

Mirror: A handheld or magnifying mirror works best.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare Your Natural Lashes

Clean: Make sure your eyelashes are clean and free of makeup.

Curl: Use an eyelash curler to lift your natural lashes for a better blend.

Step 2: Choose and Arrange Your Clusters

Hold the lash clusters up to your eye to determine which size and style work best.

You can mix different lengths for a more natural look.

Step 3: Apply Lash Bond

Apply a small amount of lash bond to the root of your natural lashes and to the base of the lash cluster. Wait about 20-30 seconds for it to become tacky.

Step 4: Position the Clusters

Using tweezers, pick up the cluster and place it as close to your natural lash line as possible about 1-2 ml away from your waterline. Start from the outer corner of your eye working your way inwards.

Place the cluster gently, and ensure it’s aligned with your natural lashes and give it a little press.

Step 5: Secure the Clusters

Press down on the cluster with the tweezers for a few seconds to ensure it adheres properly.

Repeat this process, working your way inwards, until you achieve your desired fullness.

Step 6: Seal The Deal!

Once all clusters are applied and the glue is dry, apply a thin coat of the sealer to the root of the natural lashes where you have applied the DIY lash clusters to blend your natural lashes with the clusters for a seamless look.

The Sealer Enhances Longevity!

The primary function of a sealer is to help prolong the wear of the lash clusters. It creates a protective barrier over the adhesive, making it less susceptible to moisture, oil, and other environmental factors that can weaken the bond.

Sealers help prevent the edges of the clusters from lifting. This ensures that the lashes remain secure and look fresh throughout the day.

Protects Against Elements

Sealers can provide a level of protection against humidity and sweat, which can help maintain the integrity of the lash clusters.

Step 7: Final Touches

If there are any gaps or uneven areas, you can fill them in with additional clusters.

Use eyeliner to conceal any visible glue or gaps between natural lashes and clusters for a beautiful seamless look!

Tips for Success

Practice Makes Perfect: Don’t be discouraged if it takes a few tries to get it right.

Avoid Overloading on Glue: Too much glue can lead to clumping and discomfort.

Choose the Right Size: Ensure the clusters are not too long or heavy for your natural lashes.

Aftercare: Avoid oil-based products around the eyes to prolong the wear of your clusters.

Conclusion:

Applying DIY lash clusters can enhance your look and give you the fullness you desire. With practice and patience, you’ll master the technique and enjoy beautiful lashes!
