FAQ's - Magnetic Lashes

You have questions and we want to get them answered. Here are the hot topic questions we have been asked on Instagram:
Q. Are magnetic lashes safe?

A. Yes! Magnetic eyelashes are safe and considered better than using traditional false eyelashes because you don't need to apply adhesive close to the eye area.

Q. Do magnetic eyelashes ruin your lashes?

A. No, magnetic lashes won't ruin your natural lashes because there is no glue adhesive involved which reduces the risk of lash loss considerably. Magnetic lashes are anchored to magnetic eyeliner so when removing there is no tugging or pulling of the natural lash and are considered safe to your normal lashes. If used correctly, magnetic lashes shouldn't damage your own lashes at all. Because they adhere to your lined eyelid, rather than your own lashes (unlike lash extensions or cluster lashes) your own lashes will stay safe and intact.

Q. How long do magnetic lashes last?

A. As long as you take care of them, magnetic eyelashes will last 40-60 wears possibly more. Unlike fake lashes that use glue, magnetic eyelashes don't need to be thoroughly cleaned after each use if you want to wear them again.

Q. What are the pros and cons of magnetic eyelashes?

PROs:

  1. One of the major benefits to magnetic lashes is that they are healthier for your eyes and natural than traditional (glue) false lashes. Some adhesives contain chemicals in them which are more likely to cause irritation and/or infection.
  2. Magnetic lashes are less messy than adhesive lashes. Because the lashes stick to your skin via the magnetized eyeliner that is applied like regular eyeliner rather than with glue, you don’t have to worry about getting adhesive all over your eyes and fingers.
  3. Magnetic lashes last longer because they require less handling when it comes to application and maintenance, which means a better return on your investment.
  4. Magnetic lashes are easier to apply than traditional glue lashes. Just apply the liner and they snap right on.
  5. Magnetic eyeliner has the exact same ingredients as regular eyeliner with an increase in the amount of iron oxide (used as coloring in regular eyeliner). Therefore, those who have allergic reactions to the glue required for regular falsies will love magnetic lashes.

CONs:

    1. Regular glue lashes are usually adhered right on the lash line so the look more natural. However, applying glue lashes this way can cause premature lash loss with prolonged use, which makes magnetic lashes safer to wear. In order to blend your natural lashes with your magnetic lashes you should curl your natural lashes so they meet the magnetic lashes. Adding a little mascara will also assist in blending.
    2. Although magnetic lashes tend to be easier to use, it can take longer to learn how to use them. Once you get past the initial learning curve you will wonder how you ever lived without them.
    3. Not all magnetic lashes are trimmable (5 magnet lashes), if you have smaller eyes and usually need to trim your lashes this may be an issue for you. If this is a concern, you should try 10+ magnet lashes or invisible magnetic band lashes which allow for trimming.
    4. Regular glue lashes feel sturdier than magnetic lashes. Obviously, this would be the case; however, magnetic lashes are quite sturdy when applied correctly.

Q. Can you swim with magnetic lashes?

A. While your magnetic lashes can get wet, we don't recommend swimming in them. The force of the water, and chemicals in the water, may move or lose, your lashes.

Q. Can you cry with magnetic eyelashes?

A. While we can attest to its durability in windy areas and just about any climate, we recommend keeping your magnetic lashes away from the shower or the pool. But yes, they are breakup-proof so you can cry in them for hours.

Q. Do you apply magnetic lashes before or after makeup?

A. Put all your other makeup on first before applying your magnetic false eyelashes. Otherwise, the lashes could smudge your other makeup during the application process. Apply mascara to the inside corners of your natural lashes. Magnetic false lashes only cover the outer corners of your eyes.

Q. Can you wear magnetic lashes everyday?

A. Yes. Magnetic lashes can be worn daily. As with any makeup regimen proper care and hygiene are key. Always thoroughly clean your skin and lashes prior to each use, this will lengthen the life of your lashes and ensure the health of your eyes.

Q. Are magnetic lashes good for beginners?

A. Magnetic eyelashes are perfect for beginners. These affordable lashes/re usable lashes secure to your lids with tiny magnets, not glue—so if traditional falsies often leave you in a sticky situation (literally), magnetic lashes are totally worth it.

In addition, you can literally wear one pair daily for a month so learning how to apply them isn’t as costly as the single use glue lashes.

Q. How can I make my magnetic lashes look natural?

A. Secrets To Making Magnetic Lashes Look Natural:

--Always trim your lashes to fit your eyes.
--Apply liquid liner to your top lash line the width of the lash band.
--Apply mascara to your natural lashes to help them blend with your lash strips.

Q. Can you use magnetic lashes if you have no eyelashes?

A. Yes! Magnetic lashes can be difficult to put on without the natural guide of a lash line. They can be especially hard to use if you have watery eyes. However, it is easier to wear magnetic lashes, in the case of no natural lashes, than glue lashes.

Q. Is magnetic eyeliner hard to remove?

A. Not at all! It's as simple 1, 2, 3... We have eyelash cleanser and remover to assist!

Q. Can you shower with magnetic lashes?

A. We don’t recommend swimming or showering with your lashes on. Too much water on your lashes will water log them and make them too heavy. The weight from the excess water will make them come off.

Q. Can you wear magnetic lashes through airport security?

A. Yes. You can travel in style without worrying about getting tackled by TSA because of your falsies. The electromagnetic pulse given off by magnetic lashes are so low, it is not detected when going though the TSA Checkpoint.

Q. Can you sleep with magnetic eyelashes on?

A.  As thrilled as we are that you don’t ever want to part with your  Magnetic Lashes, we advise that you don’t sleep in them. They can be damaged or lost if you sleep in them.
